Event - Year 5's Jaguar Challenge

7 May 2014

For the last two terms the children in Year 5 have been working extremely hard on a Jaguar Challenge Project. This has involved working in teams to design and build a racing car to compete against other schools.

The children also had to create a pit display for their car as well as giving a 5 minute presentation all about their team and car. The children worked incredibly hard on the project which paid off with our Royal Racers team (Fariha, Zahra, Qasim and Umar) winning the regional competition on Wednesday 7th May, and Racing Rebels (Afeefah, Zobia, Saif and Hassan) coming a very close second.

We are so proud of all the children that took part in the competition and wish the Royal Racers luck as they will be representing Birmingham in the national finals.

A big thank you to must go to Mrs Lloyd and Mrs Swapp for their hard work during the project along with Richard and Andrew from Delcam who have shared their engineering expertise.

Tuesday 24 June signalled the end of our Jaguar F1 journey with our Royal Racers team representing Holy Family in the National Finals at Coventry's Ricoh Arena.

The children had to design and build their own F1 Car, give an 8 minute presentation and create an interactive Pit display. The children were an absolute credit to our school, we are extremely proud of their efforts!
