The children in Year 6 set off on their residential trip to the Wye Valley. Our trip was part of the Generation Green project which creates opportunities for young people to get in touch with nature.
During our two days at the YHA in the Wye Valley we took part in many adventures. We had to make a house for a mouse which would keep the mouse warm using natural materials and we also took part in a bug hunt identifying the insects that we found.
That night we sat around a bonfire and sang some songs and listened to the night sounds of the wildlife around us.
On the day that we left, we worked as a team to build shelters in the forest and it was great fun when these shelters were tested to see if they were waterproof.
We would like to thank all the staff at the YHA who looked after and guided us so well in all the activities, and to Generation Green for giving us this wonderful opportunity to get in touch with nature.
