Year 3 had a fantastic experience travelling back in time to the Stone Age with Primary History Workshops. We learned all about how humans evolved through this prehistoric period and how they lived and survived.
We had fun role-playing hunter-gatherers and worked together to hunt woolly mammoths for dinner! We also handled secondary sources such as animal skins, tools and drums.
Our classroom based activities involved using string, feathers and stone to design tools as well as identifying the differences in homo sapien and homo neanderthal skulls. We enjoyed sketching these and using slate, chalk and charcoal to create some superb cave paintings.
A fun day full of prehistoric leaning!
