Year 6

Welcome to Year 6.

The children in Year 6 are currently taught by Miss Walker, Mr McDonald, Mrs Wrob and Mrs Lloyd.

We continue to work closely with Year 5 to ensure consistency throughout the key stage and develop the children’s learning.

We constantly endeavor to provide the children with a broad, balanced and creative curriculum catering to the needs of all children, therefore in our classroom you will find a positive learning environment where all children engaged in their learning in order to reach their full potential.

Our faith permeates all that we do in school both through our lessons and how we behave and respond to each other in our daily lives. Our prayer table is used regularly within RE lessons to support reflection and prayer through the year. In Year 6 we support each other in Confirmation which takes place in the Summer term. We have the opportunity to join our local parishioners to celebrate mass in Holy Family Church at the beginning of each month and lead our school in at least one Mass in the year.

Year 6 are lucky enough to have the opportunity to complete a residential trip to Alton Castle, which is a fantastic experience! The trip offers children a variety of new learning experiences and build team working skills, and we strongly recommend that every child takes this excellent opportunity this year.

To show the rest of the school what we learn about in Year 6, we participate in two class assemblies each year, one of which is our leaver’s assembly where we say thank you and goodbye at the end of the summer term.
